Here are our top five events happening in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville during October.

Oct. 2–24: Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival Tunes and Tales

For fall fun in Gatlinburg, don’t miss the Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival. The mountain town embraces the season for 12 weeks. The free festival features festive decorations, live entertainment and much more.

During the Harvest Festival, hear live music and entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings during the Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival Tunes and Tales. The whole family can experience everything from costumed storytellers and musical ensembles to cloggers and much more.

Oct. 4–5: Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament

Calling all anglers. The Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament is open to both adults and children, locals and visitors. This tournament, on Friday and Saturday, has several different categories to compete in. Over $10,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the winners. This is the largest trout tournament in the region.

Oct. 10–27: Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair

Don’t miss the fall edition of the Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair. Held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center, this event brings over 200 booths featuring one-of-a-kind handmade products. These skilled artisans will demonstrate their talents to attendees. Kids can enjoy the do-it-yourself crafts.

Oct. 31: Halloween Spooktacular Block Party

The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office invites family to a safe Halloween during the Halloween Spooktacular Block Party. Sevier County residents are invited to come out to the Sevier County Fairgrounds for a free evening of trick-or-treating with local fire, police, EMS, government agencies and special business partners.

Until Nov. 3: OktOBERfest

Celebrate a Bavarian Oktoberfest right in Gatlinburg at Ober Gatlinburg’s OktOBERfest. Through the month of October, the mountain amusement park will have plenty of activities for all ages as Ober Gatlinburg celebrates the traditions of the original Oktoberfest in Germany. Enjoy traditional German food, an outdoor bier garden, costumes, live entertainment and much more.
